The Little Mermaid on Folly Beach

The Little Mermaid on Folly Beach

Folly Beach had a SUPER talented visitor last month!

Meet Nathaniel, a high school senior and an amazing pianist. While visiting his Grandparents in Goose Creek, Nathaniel and his team made a trip to Folly Beach to make a music video on the beach (though it was no easy task).

Determination allowed Nathaniel and his team moved the 650lb piano onto the beach by hand. With the help of a small U-Haul trailer, they were able to cart the piano to the beach entrance and some nearby driftwood allowed them to gain traction under the wheels and hoist the piano onto the beach.

Nathaniel says, “We would’ve never made it if it weren’t for some kind people who stopped to help us move the piano throughout the day. Every now and then, people (who I assume just felt bad for us) would stop to help us move the piano for maybe 5 or 10 minutes. Their assistance meant more to us than they know.”

Once the piano made it onto the sand, they found the perfect spot to film their music video. And we’re just in awe of this young man’s talent.

Peaceful & Beautiful

This was my families first time at the ocean and I will never forget the look of joy on my youngest daughter’s face the moment the waves first came up on her feet. The beach was not over crowded, was clean, and was great for relaxing, swimming, and collecting seashells. There is a long pier for fishing off of and it is a beautiful sight at night. The town atmosphere was a nice mix between relaxing and having a good time and can work for the over 21 crowd as well as for families with small kids. There are plenty of great food stops and cute shops.

Fantastic & Peaceful

This beach is very relaxing and a great place to chill out. We saw several dolphins and enjoyed walking on the fishing pier. I would consider staying on the beach here next time we are in Charleston instead of downtown.
