Spring Charters

Spring Charters

Spring Break is here and Deep Sea fishing charters, Nearshore fishing charters and Inshore Charter fishing in Folly Beach have been producing some of our favorite sport fish.

Deep Sea Fishing charters have been targeting assorted snapper, King Mackerel, Wahoo, Sea Bass and too many other species to mention. Nearshore fishing at the reefs and wrecks just off the beach have been catching Black Drum, Weakfish, Bluefish, Bull Redfish and Sheepshead. To catch Sheepshead we have been fishing over rocks, pilings and any kind of hard structure. Fiddler crabs and oyster meat have been catching the most fish. The tackle we have been using is a Carolina rig with a 10 inch leader and a #2 mosquito hook. Drop it down to the bottom next to structure and lift the weight about a foot off the structure. Wait for the soft quick tap and set the hook immediately. These guys are quick so be sharp and expect to go through some tackle in the process. Inshore fishing charters have been targeting Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder as they begin to feed more heavily in our warming waters. The Reds have been taking mud minnows, soft plastics by Z-Man and DOA, and cut bait such as mullet, crab and shrimp. Speckled Trout have been eating soft plastics by Z-Man and DOA, mud minnows and shrimp under corks and if you can find them menhaden live lined with a split shot into deeper holes in the channels.

If you want additional information on tackle or techniques your favorite tackle shop will be happy to offer you the information that you need. To book a charter you may do so quickly and securely on the Charleston Fish Rod Bending Company website. Peaceful & Beautiful

This was my families first time at the ocean and I will never forget the look of joy on my youngest daughter’s face the moment the waves first came up on her feet. The beach was not over crowded, was clean, and was great for relaxing, swimming, and collecting seashells. There is a long pier for fishing off of and it is a beautiful sight at night. The town atmosphere was a nice mix between relaxing and having a good time and can work for the over 21 crowd as well as for families with small kids. There are plenty of great food stops and cute shops.

Fantastic & Peaceful

This beach is very relaxing and a great place to chill out. We saw several dolphins and enjoyed walking on the fishing pier. I would consider staying on the beach here next time we are in Charleston instead of downtown.
