Fossil Outings
Fossil outings are a great way for vacationers and fossil enthusiasts to learn about certain locations to find great fossils as well as learn how to identify fossils better! CFA offers an abundance of fossil outings, all of which are specific certain things. One of the most popular outings is the Folly Beach Adventure outing, where you can find high end shark teeth and even great white shark teeth. Another popular and more unique outing is the Fossil Kayaking Adventures where you get the chance to head out on the water and find and identify different kinds of fossils on Folly Beach.
Fossil Identification
Ever wonder if you collected a crazy cool fossil and want to learn more about it/what it even is!? The CFA has a great fossil identification team that will help build your knowledge in fossils, so you can learn what to look for when looking for fossils! Ashby, the fossil identification head for the CFA will help you identify your fossils and help you be more prepared and ready for the next time you head out to fossil hunt!
Fossil Education
The CFA offers great opportunities to learn more about fossils and allow for them to go to your event and display some fossil findings for everyone! Some of the big education opportunities are schooling, scouting, and extracurricular site visits. All these are fantastic and fun way to learn more and more about fossils in the Folly Beach area. The opportunities provided at CFA to further your knowledge are there for you, and you should defiantly take advantage of them, as Folly Beach is fortunate to have this luxury available.

Peaceful & Beautiful
This was my families first time at the ocean and I will never forget the look of joy on my youngest daughter’s face the moment the waves first came up on her feet. The beach was not over crowded, was clean, and was great for relaxing, swimming, and collecting seashells. There is a long pier for fishing off of and it is a beautiful sight at night. The town atmosphere was a nice mix between relaxing and having a good time and can work for the over 21 crowd as well as for families with small kids. There are plenty of great food stops and cute shops.
Fantastic & Peaceful
This beach is very relaxing and a great place to chill out. We saw several dolphins and enjoyed walking on the fishing pier. I would consider staying on the beach here next time we are in Charleston instead of downtown.
