November Fishing Forecast

November Fishing Forecast

November is here and Folly Beach charter fishing has switched gears for fall fishing. That means we are spending more time casting artificials baits as fish have grouped up in typical late-year fashion. We have experienced our first cold front now and our waters are cooling down. Our fish take that as a sign that it’s time to fatten up for winter, so overall expect good fishing in Charleston and Folly Beach.

Deep-Sea fishing and nearshore fishing charters will focus on reefs as Snapper, Sea Bass, Bonito, Black Drum, and Bull Redfish hover on a structure just off the beach. Jetties and rock piles will hold schools of Sheepshead, Weakfish and other species as predators gather around to ambush schools of baits migrating south. Depending on water temperatures this activity can last through the end of January.

Inshore fishing charters will focus on Speckled Trout and Redfish in the creeks as those fish also group up in current breaks to gorge on shrimp and minnows. Most times we will fish with live bait and soft plastic baits on light tackle. This doesn’t mean that those fish are small though as it’s common to catch Redfish well over the 10 lb mark. Hope this report helps you get ready for some of the best fishing of the year! Let’s get out there together! You can check our availability and book your fishing charter directly online right from our website.

Peaceful & Beautiful

This was my families first time at the ocean and I will never forget the look of joy on my youngest daughter’s face the moment the waves first came up on her feet. The beach was not over crowded, was clean, and was great for relaxing, swimming, and collecting seashells. There is a long pier for fishing off of and it is a beautiful sight at night. The town atmosphere was a nice mix between relaxing and having a good time and can work for the over 21 crowd as well as for families with small kids. There are plenty of great food stops and cute shops.

Fantastic & Peaceful

This beach is very relaxing and a great place to chill out. We saw several dolphins and enjoyed walking on the fishing pier. I would consider staying on the beach here next time we are in Charleston instead of downtown.
