New Pickleball Courts at Pirates Cove!
Jolly Folly Pickleball is here! Folly Beach now has pickleball courts at Pirate’s Cove Park located on the 5th block east between Erie and Hudson. Pickleball is a two to four-person paddle game combining parts of tennis, table tennis, and badminton. All are welcome to play the popular paddle game with no fee to play. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8-10 AM and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 2-4 PM there will be tournaments, email @oak_island@yahoo.com to join!
All participants must sign a City of Folly Beach Activities Waiver. Email the waiver to cjolley@follybeach.gov, the waiver expires 12/31/21. Review the rules here. Sign up for the CourtReserve app here. The app allows you to reserve courts from your phone, select Folly Beach Recreation once you download.

Peaceful & Beautiful
This was my families first time at the ocean and I will never forget the look of joy on my youngest daughter’s face the moment the waves first came up on her feet. The beach was not over crowded, was clean, and was great for relaxing, swimming, and collecting seashells. There is a long pier for fishing off of and it is a beautiful sight at night. The town atmosphere was a nice mix between relaxing and having a good time and can work for the over 21 crowd as well as for families with small kids. There are plenty of great food stops and cute shops.
Fantastic & Peaceful
This beach is very relaxing and a great place to chill out. We saw several dolphins and enjoyed walking on the fishing pier. I would consider staying on the beach here next time we are in Charleston instead of downtown.
