Folly Beach Plastic Bag Ordinance

Folly Beach City Council has passed a new ordinance to eliminate the use of Plastic Bags and Styrofoam within city limits in effort to protect our sealife and the Folly environment.  The ordinance bans business up to and including the Harris Teeter on Folly Road from distributing any of the following:
– Plastic carry out bags of any kind (this includes grocery, gas station, restaurant and retail store)
– Styrofoam cups, coolers & take-out boxes
The new ordinance will take place starting Sunday, January 1, 2017.

The Perfect Beach Day

When you hear “the perfect beach day” you imagine sand castles, picnics, surfing, and family time. Folly has all of it!

Beach day picnics are the best when they’re as easy as walking into Bert’s Market and ordering exactly what you want! Bert’s Market offers organic and gluten free sandwiches and wraps, as well as fresh fruit, snack foods, alcoholic beverages and freshly made dessert to make every family member happy!

Now that you have snacks — all that is left to do is head to the beach and find the perfect spot. The Washout is a great place to go for those who want beach space to lay out or great waves for any surfing or boogie boarding. Folly makes it as easy as that! One Island, two stops, and a day full of fun and relaxation!
