Folly Beach Plastic Bag Ordinance
Folly Beach City Council has passed a new ordinance to eliminate the use of Plastic Bags and Styrofoam within city limits in effort to protect our sealife and the Folly environment. The ordinance bans business up to and including the Harris Teeter on Folly Road from distributing any of the following:
– Plastic carry out bags of any kind (this includes grocery, gas station, restaurant and retail store)
– Styrofoam cups, coolers & take-out boxes
The new ordinance will take place starting Sunday, January 1, 2017.
