Bloody Mary Competition

The Bloody Mary Competition Results Are In! Congrats to our winners!

Popular Vote: Planet Follywood
This beauty got the most votes and was a hit with the Judges as well! Deep Eddy vodka + Zing Zang made this a super tasty beverage. The homemade ham biscuit and maple bacon put this at the top of the presentation and flavor list. That Deep Eddy mason jar was a nice touch. Big applaud to Plant Follywood for this big win!

Judges Choice: Pier 101
Using Charleston Mix’s new Fresh Veggie blend as a base, Pier 101’s Jamaica Pleasant added Westbrook Smoked Porter, smoked chili powder and a list of other spices to this tasty concoction. Big on flavor, but not overdone, this Deep Eddy Bloody Mary was a unanimous hit for the contest Judges. We loved the effort into this mix topped with a pepperocini, pickled okra and a big olive on a palmetto leaf toothpick. It was everything we needed on a cold New Years weekend.

Honorable Mention: Woody’s Pizza
This Deep Eddy Bloody Mary took us back to summertime with a unique and delicious flavor using the Charleston-made Natural Blonde mix as their base. Topped with two mozzarella balls, pepperoni slices, and a pepperocini, this Bloody Mary was a delightful change of pace. Receiving the second highest amount of popular votes and loved by the judges, it is only right that Woody’s gets an honorable mention for this terrific concoction.

Big thanks to all Folly Bloody Mary Contest participants! It was a great weekend for originality.

Save the Light is hosting a small ceremony at the beach overlooking the Morris Island lighthouse on Saturday October 1st at 7 pm, the 140th anniversary of the first lighting October 1, 1876. Thanks to generous SCE&G engineers, lighthouse windows and the lantern room will be lit by remote control at 7:30 pm for four hours. The gates will be closed, but there may be a golf cart shuttle.  Plan to end your day at the East end at sunset to see our lighthouse sending light into the night sky like she did between 1876 and 1962. See www.savethelight.org for more information on the lighting, and on efforts to save the lighthouse.
