Folly Beach Summer Bucket List
Summer is in full swing here on Folly Beach! Whether you’re just here for a weekend or staying the whole summer, we want to help you make the most of your time on Folly. We’ve put together a Summer Bucket List to make the most of your summer with unique attractions, events, and activities that we think summer on Folly Beach wouldn’t be complete without.
Visit the Morris Island Lighthouse! This historic lighthouse has most recently been featured in “Outer Banks,” the hit Netflix show that was actually filmed all over the Charleston area. For more information on how to visit the lighthouse, call (843) 633-0099 or visit Charleston Outdoor Adventures and learn about their eco-tour.
Take a Surf Lesson! Folly Beach offers lessons for everyone, regardless of your skill level. Check out some of our local favorites, like Folly Beach Surf Lessons, Isla Surf School, or Shaka Surf School for more information!
Karaoke at Planet Follywood! Come out and show us what you’ve got Thursday nights beginning at 9:30 pm. Head over to our Entertainment Calendar to see what else they have planned, or visit Planet Follywood.
See some live music! Some of our favorites include Reggae Sunday at The Washout, Seitu Solomon at Loggerhead’s Beach Grill, or the rotating selection at Planet Follywood every Friday night! Check out our Entertainment Calendar to see the full selection.
Go fishing at the Pier! The Folly Beach Fishing Pier is the second-longest on the East Coast and offers beautiful views as well as a great saltwater fishing spot. Call (843) 762-9516 for more details!
Go on a bike ride! Folly Beach is home to a bunch of great bike shops that offer rentals, and there’s no better way to explore the town. Check out Mike’s Bikes or Cool Breeze Bikes to get started!
Stand-Up Paddleboarding! Whether you want to take an eco-friendly guided tour with Charleston SUP Safaris or rent some boards from Folly Beach Adventures and explore on your own, stand-up paddleboarding is a must for a summer at Folly.
Visit the Angel Oak Tree! Located in nearby John’s Island, this must-see natural landmark is estimated to be more than 500 years old. For more information, visit http://www.angeloaktree.com/.
Grab a bite at some of our local restaurants! There’s something for everyone here at Folly Beach, so you’re guaranteed a great meal no matter what you’re in the mood for.
