Description
April Fishing Forecast
Folly Beach fishing has been good recently when we get several warm days in a row. When we get cold fronts, the fishing has been average. The good news is as the month goes on, we will have warmer water and the fishing will get progressively better! Inshore, we are catching Speckled Trout, Redfish, Black Drum and Flounder on live and cut bait. If you favor fishing with artificials, the fish are striking jigs equally as well. For groups that want to get out and enjoy a few hours on the water with us, a 4 hour charter is perfect. For the more serious angler, I recommend the 6 hour inshore charter where we can cover more ground, target more species, and typically employ a variety of techniques. This year, we have introduced 3 hour family style trips with combination dolphin eco tour and easy bottom fishing for our young and casual anglers. It’s the perfect way to keep your time on the water interesting for everyone.
Deep Sea fishing charters have been catching Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel, Amberjack, and a variety of Snapper and other bottom fish on the offshore reefs and trolling spots in 70 to 100 ft. of water. I recommend the 8 or 10 hour charter for those of you interested in making the run to the offshore grounds.
Nearshore fishing charters are finding fish 3 to 5 miles from shore and have been catching big Bull Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel and Sharks, just to name a few. 4 hour charters work just fine, however, consider a 6 to 8 hour charter to give yourself the best experience and enough time to take advantage of every opportunity we come across.
