April Fishing Forecast
Deep sea fishing Charters and nearshore fishing charters in Folly Beach have been producing plenty of action as warming waters enter our area. Black Sea Bass, Sheepshead, Weakfish a variety of Snapper, Wahoo and a host of other species are keeping everyone busy bringing fish into the boat. Closer to the beach we have had large Bull Redfish inhale our baits and jigs signaling the early stages of the arrival of the big schools of these tough fighters. We are now finding a good variety of fish just a few miles off the beach and things are just going to get better from here! Most days have been fairly calm out there but a few times our Deep Sea fishing charter had to seek the shelter of the jetties or inshore when the sea started to get choppy. Fortunately for us those jetties and rock piles hold a lot of fish for us to target. To get yourself out on a fishing charter with us text, email, call or book your trip online now.
Inshore Fishing Charters in Folly Beach have benefited from a mild winter as water temperatures have stayed moderate throughout the season. Big Speckled Trout mixed in with smaller juveniles have been reliable targets during periods of good tidal flow. We have been catching them using smaller profile soft plastics made by Z-Man in addition to mud minnows and live shrimp. The creek and shallow water bite for Redfish and Black Drum had been excellent during the lower end of the tide cycle. We have been catching those fish on blue crab, shrimp, mullet and paddle tail jigs around docks, flats and oyster beds. Overall I expect fishing to remain solid through the next month with allowances of course for weather and mother nature in general. That’s all I have for now, let’s go fishing!
